CYCLING IN FRANCE AND CLIMBING DORMANT VOLCANOES

ROAD BIKES

This pituresque volcanic region is the ideal location for cycling. With winding country roads and million dollar views, you will be able to reach the summits of the region such as the Puy Mary (alt:1790m), and also recieve an intimate look at the typical french lifestyle of this region at the same time.

These cycling tours in our area will allow you to discover a maginificent view at all times. The Alpes or Pyrenees only offer you this once you arrive at the summit after 30km of climbing.

When you stay for one week you will be given up to 4 guided tours. The level of each ride conducted during your stay will be estimated according to your personal ability and needs. Rides will vary between 50 and 130 kms at a time. ( Minimum booking of 3 persons required for this option). In pure french cycling style, a car will follow you to the summits and offer you lunch and refreshments. This is only required for the 'long ride'. That being of 130km.

For those wishing to compete, there are amateur races conducted by the FFC and cyclosportives from March to the end of September *available in a 50km radius of the BED & BREAKFAST.

MOUNTAIN BIKE

The area is a wonderful place to practice mountain bike, during your ride, you can have less than 10% of bitumen. You can do some real mountain bike, there is some extraordinary paths for treking and special horse riding tracks which make for a wonderful MTB.
There is a wide variety of terrains ranging from wide paths in the forrest to technical single-tracks, some amazing climbs under the shadows of the trees followed by technical steep downhills.
A REAL PLEASURE FOR ANY RIDER

I stopped competition riding in 1998 due to all the doping scandals. I realised even though I was a good National Cyclist I didn' t have the capacity to make professionel level, that's why I went toAustralia .
After spending 2 years without really touching a bike I slowly returned to cycling but in a more relax spirit, and in January 2003 I even won a criterium in Perth B grade.
Now, I am going 2 or 3 times a week mixing road and mtb. I hope to see you here to share my passion with you.
